The Cultural Gathering of Nations (CGON) is a four-day celebration of First Nations culture, community, and tradition, bringing together Nations from across Treaty 8 territory and Northern British Columbia.
Founded through a shared vision by West Moberly First Nations, Prophet River First Nation, and Halfway River First Nation, CGON was created to provide a space where culture can be celebrated, shared, and experienced by all. What began as an ambitious idea became a historic gathering in 2025, welcoming thousands of attendees to the inaugural event in Dawson Creek.
Now entering its second year, CGON continues to grow. The gathering features competitive powwow and hand games, cultural camps, traditional foods, artisan vendors, a Tea Dance, cultural teaching opportunities, and activities for all ages.
Whether you come to compete, learn, connect, or simply experience the rich traditions and living cultures of First Nations peoples, CGON offers something for everyone. Guided by community leadership and Elders, the event celebrates cultural pride, strengthens relationships, and creates lasting connections between Nations and visitors alike.
The Cultural Gathering of Nations is a free, family-friendly, drug and alcohol-free event. Everyone is welcome to join four unforgettable days of culture, competition, and community—where Nations gather.
