Councillor Debate - Dawson Creek Municipal Election

October 4, 2022 will be the place to be to meet all your candidates running for Dawson Creek council this fall – at Co-op Mercer Hall at the Ovintiv Events Centre.

The Dawson Creek Mirror returns to present the 2022 Dawson Creek councillor candidate forum on October 4, 2022 in Co-op Mercer Hall.

Doors at 6:30pm, with candidate hopefuls candidates having time to mingle before taking the stage at approximately 7:00pm.

“All candidates who have announced, and those who have not yet, are invited to attend,” says Dawson Creek Mirror managing editor Rob Brown who will moderate the evening.

Brown has hosted DC candidate and mayoral debates in 2018, as well as throughout the South Peace, and western Canada in his 24 year career in journalism.

“We will of course attempt our live feed as we did in 2018 for those who cannot attend in person, says Brown.

“If the live feed doesn’t happen for technical reasons – we will certainly have a video recording of the evening that night for those who missed attending in person.”

“Each of these have always resulted in a great night of open discussions, and this one should be even more enlightening, as we get to hear community feedback first hand, get to know our candidates a bit better, as well as learn about their thoughts on a range of municipal issues.”

The public can enter Co-op Mercer Hall through the lower lobby doors of the Ovintiv Events Centre which are located adjacent to the Kenn Borek Aquatic Centre entrance.

“We are always looking for community sponsors to climb on board to make the event even better,” says Brown.

Doors at 6:30pm, with councillor candidates taking the stage at approximately 7:00pm.
