Second Annual Global Spectrum at Encana Events Centre FREE TOUCH A TRUCK EVENT & UNITED WAY FIRETRUCK PULL on Saturday, August 23, 2014

DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The second annual FREE Touch-a-Truck event & United Way Fire Truck Pull is set to take place on August 23 from 11am-3pm in the Encana Events Centre parking lot. Children of all ages, including adults, are invited to come out and enjoy a hands-on experience with popular emergency vehicles, work trucks, a Zamboni & many more. An exciting addition to this year’s FREE “Touch A Truck” event will be the United Way Fire Truck Pull to kick off United Way’s 2014 Fundraising Campaign Season. This is the ultimate team building challenge. Teams will play “tug of war” with a fire truck weighing over 30,000 lbs., and compete for awards and prizes. Proceeds from the Fire Truck Pull will go to the United Way, an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life by advancing the common good. Bring your appetite; there will be a charity BBQ onsite, sponsored by Ovations Food & Beverage Services. All proceeds from the BBQ will go to Step Up ‘N Ride Society of Dawson Creek which is a non-profit organization that provides transportation in Dawson Creek and surrounding area for clients unable to access public transportation and seniors who require their services.

 

The Dawson Creek Auto Cross Club will also be on site displaying their racing cars and providing an opportunity for kids to strap on a helmet, click into a harness and be taken around the cones in a real race car with a rally car driver! Bouncy Castle by Bounce House Rentals and facepainting as well so come and join us for some fun!
