The Big Chill Music Fest

Published: Mar 13, 2017

It is that time of year…..you know what I mean. The time of year where we are in crazy winter/spring purgatory and we need to bring three items of outer wear to work because the temperature is fluctuating so dramatically. Winter jacket with hood for morning, a light ski jacket at lunch and by the time you head home for the day, a sweater is all that you need! The joys of Northern Living: One day we are sitting on the sun deck surrounded by snow enjoying the above normal temperatures and dreaming of summer and the next day we are plugging our cars in because it is -30 degrees!

Instead of wondering if the groundhog saw his or her shadow or if March came in like a lion and will go out like a lamb……come out and celebrate The Big Chill at the Encana Events Centre on March 18th!

It was only 6 short months ago that we envisioned this concept and it is so cool to see it become a reality. Partnering with Sound in Town was the key to providing the ‘Big Stage’ experience for our artists – Russell Eggleston and his team are experts at helping artists sound and look their best and The Big Chill event is no exception!

The music fest concert will feature nine local and regional musicians who are ready to rock the big stage and showcase their amazing talent !

The lineup is eclectic and has something for everyone to enjoy:

Scarlet Sway
Folky Strum Strum
Morgan McGowan & Cover me
Shake Appeal
This is the Silence
The Boreal
The Mechanical Botanicals
Lorissa Scriven
D-Cline & the Slopes

Doors will open at 7:00 p.m. and the first band takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. – ENTRY THROUGH THE UPPER LOBBY.

Tickets are on sale now through the Tiger Box Office Plus location at the Encana Events Centre, online at www.tigerboxofficeplus.ca or by telephone at 1-877-339-8499.

Tickets in advance are only $25.00 plus applicable fees – great value for over 4 hours of live music!

Come out for The Big Chill and support local! This is an all age event – please remember to bring two pieces of ID if you wish to drink alcohol and maybe bring a little extra cash to purchase some merchandise that the bands will have on sale at the event. Attendees can also support the Bear Mountain Nordic Ski Club who we have invited to the event where they will sell 50/50 tickets and provide a coat check.

See you on the 18th!

Special thank you to our sponsors!
