Meatloaf - Hang Cool Tourwith special guest Lisa Bouchelle
Meat Loaf will spend some time on the road this summer in support of his forthcoming album, "Hang Cool Teddy Bear." The theatrical rocker will stop at the EnCana Events Centre Saturday, July 31 2010. Tickets for the EnCana Events Centre date go on-sale Friday May 14th at 10:am local time online. EnCana Events Centre Cyber club members have the chance to purchase their tickets in advance during an exclusive online presale starting Tuesday May 11th at 7:00am. To register, fans should CLICK HERE "Hang Cool Teddy Bear," the musician's 11th studio effort, will hit shelves May 11th. Meat Loaf worked with producer Rob Cavallo on the set, which features guest appearances by Jack Black, Hugh Laurie, Kara DioGuardi and Steve Vai. The new material was inspired by the 1970 film "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" and named for a line in the movie. "I wanted it big, I wanted it dramatic, I wanted a rock record," the performer explained in a prepared statement. "Yes, it sounds like a Meat Loaf record. But it sounds different, too; it sounds new, it sounds fresh. It speaks to you in a different way." The Hang Cool Tour will feature some of Meat Loaf’s new tracks, plus a selection of his hits, and a major focus on his rock-classic Bat Out Of Hell album. Meat Loaf is also a successful actor, having appeared in more than 60 television shows and feature films, from "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" to last year's "Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny."
